Our spring sessions will consist of three formats:

• Developmental Academy for players born from 2019 through 2022 (U4 Playground and U6): Sessions will be conducted in partnership with local Los Alamitos company Deft Touch. Their experienced trainers will help your players to take their skills to the next level! Sessions will be on Saturday mornings starting on March 1st and ending on May 10th. U4 Playground players (2021 and 2022 birthdays) will play at 9:00 am. Boys under 6 players (2019 and 2020 birthdays) will play at 10:15 am. Girls under 6 players (2019 and 2020 birthdays) will play at 11:30 am. Players will receive an AYSO Spring Academy shirt and a pair of red socks. Players will need to have their own black shorts and shin guards. Registration will close on February 28th. No refunds will be given after February 28th. The price is $100. (Players will need to pay the annual $25 AYSO national fee if they did not play in the fall and there is also a $2.75 registration site fee.) Sessions will be at Lee Elementary School.
  
  
• Developmental Academy + Short-Sided Scrimmages for players born in 2017 or 2018 (U8): The U8 program will play twice a week. Monday academy sessions will be held at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 starting on March 10th and will be conducted in partnership with First Touch Soccer. Their experienced trainers will help your players to take their skills to the next level! Then, players will use their newly refined skills in Saturday morning short-sided scrimmages starting on March 15th. Scrimmages will be at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00. This format seeks to allow players to learn and then apply skills in a low-risk environment. Players will receive an AYSO Spring shirt and a pair of red socks. Players will need to have their own black shorts and shin guards. Registration will close on February 2nd. No refunds will be given after February 5th. The price is $130. (Players will need to pay the annual $25 AYSO national fee if they did not play in the fall and there is also a $2.75 registration site fee.) Sessions will be at Arbor Park.
  
  
• Spring Select team play for players born from 2006 through 2016 (U10 through U19): Register to express your interest in our Spring Select program. Our number of coach, referee, and field maintenance volunteers will determine our number of teams. In Spring Select, players are "selected" onto teams using a draft. Players will have priority to enter the draft pool if a family member volunteers as a coach or referee. Games will be played on Saturdays. Practices will begin in February and practice times will be determined by coaches. Registration will close on December 31st. No refunds will be given after 10 days from when payment is processed. The price is $150. (Players will need to pay the annual $25 AYSO national fee if they did not play in the fall and there is also a $2.75 registration site fee.) Your player will be wait listed upon registering and you will not pay until your player is selected onto a team.
  

Please note that we will not play on March 29th or April 19th.

As a reminder, AYSO age divisions are based on the calendar year. Here are the age divisions for our spring 2025 season:

• U4 (Playground): Birth Years 2021 and 2022
• U6 (Under 6): Birth Years 2019 and 2020
• U8 (Under 8): Birth Years 2017 and 2018
• U10 (Under 10): Birth Years 2015 and 2016
• U12 (Under 12): Birth Years 2013 and 2014
• U14 (under 14): Birth Years 2011 and 2012
• U16 (Under 16): Birth Years 2009 and 2010
• U19 (under 19): Birth Years 2006, 2007, and 2008

AYSO Region 159 is proud to be one of the largest youth soccer groups in North Orange County. We are a 100% volunteer-based, non-profit organization. Without PARENTS/ GUARDIANS, SIBLINGS & FAMILY VOLUNTEERS, AYSO cannot function to serve the players.  Please consider volunteering to Coach or Referee!!  We are targeting three referees for each Spring Select team. The Region can only form teams based on the number of available Coaches and Referees.

Remember it is and will always be all about the kids! Please consider volunteering so that we can get as many kids on the field as possible in a Positive, Instructional, and Encouraging program.
